Anyone who lives or works in Yolo County can submit to The Yolo
Crow. We accept poetry, short fiction and creative non-fiction of
all genres. Please no essays.
Please follow these guidelines when submitting your work to The Yolo
Crow:
Guidelines for Prose and Poetry
- Each submission must be accompanied by a signed submission form.
- Please
send us 4 copies of your poem or story. Submissions will not
be returned so please do not send us your only copy. You may
submit up to 3
pieces per submission period.
- Submissions should be typed, not handwritten, with 12-point
font size and an easily-read font type such as Times or
Arial. For prose, please
use single line-spacing and note your total word count on the
submission form. Total word count should be less than 5000
words. For poetry, please
note your total number of lines.
- Please do not put your name directly on your poem or story.
Your name should appear on the submission form only. Because this is
a small
community, all submissions are evaluated anonymously by our
editors.
Guidelines for Cover Art

Cover art must be a black and white line drawing and must include
a crow somewhere in the piece. Electronic submissions preferred;
vector drawings encouraged. Electronic submission should be mailed to
us on CD.
We will accept up to 3 pieces per artist per submission period.
Include a self-addressed stamped envelope with your submission
so that we can respond to you. All submissons must include
a signed submission form. Click

Submission that do not meet the above guidelines will be discarded
without consideration for publication and without notification,
so please follow the instructions carefully.
